# LLC States

> Formation fees, annual report fees and filing facts for 51 US jurisdictions, the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Every figure carries its own verification date and a link to the source it was read from.

LLC States is a reference, not a guide. No table on this site ranks the states, recommends one, or carries a paid placement.

## Where the figures come from

Every figure renders from one dataset, us-llc-fees-dataset, pinned to a single commit for the whole build. This build reads commit 5cb4985efc856d8f0221e22fde84192a7aed7040, committed 2026-08-08, covering 7 namespaces. The dataset is published under CC BY 4.0 at https://github.com/startupsolellc/us-llc-fees-dataset.

No figure is typed into a page. A value that is wrong here is wrong upstream, which is the only place it can be fixed.

## Reading a value

Every figure is a tagged object rather than a bare number, because a fee nobody has read is not a fee of zero. Three tags carry the difference, and a fourth marks a field that is not served yet.

- `value`: Read from a primary source. Carries lastVerified, and sourceUrl where the source is a public page.
- `unknown`: Not read at this pin. Not zero, not absent, and never sorted, summed or averaged.
- `verified-absent`: Checked and confirmed not to exist. A state that files no LLC annual report reads this way.
- `gated`: The upstream namespace behind this field has no published schema at this pin. No value is served for it, and none is guessed.

41 of the 51 jurisdictions have a row on the state index and no record sheet yet. Pages are published in batches, each one behind a human read of the values against their sources. A state arrives here when its page has been checked, not when its data lands.

## Dates

There is no site-wide freshness date on this site, and citing one would misrepresent it. Each figure carries the date it was verified, and a page states the oldest record it prints. A figure quoted from here is safest quoted with that date.

## What this site does not do

This site files nothing, gives no legal or tax advice, and takes no position on where a reader should form. A revenue-based tax is named as one rather than reduced to a single figure, because one figure would be wrong for most readers.
