Who publishes this site?

LLC States is published by Startupsole LLC. The site is a reference for LLC filing facts in the 50 states and the District of Columbia, and it files nothing on anyone's behalf.

What do you collect from me?

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into. This site has no account, no sign-in, no contact form and no comment field.

The wizard on the home page runs entirely in your browser. Your answers to it are never sent anywhere, and the figures it ranks were already in the page before you touched it.

The one-question check on each state page reports when you open yes or no, which state page it was and whether you continue to the full wizard. It sends no text, name or contact detail; the measurement exists to show whether the check is used.

What does the server record?

The ordinary details of a request. This site is served by Cloudflare, which logs the address a request came from, the time it arrived, the page it asked for and the user agent string your browser sends.

Those records exist so the site can be run and defended against abuse. They are read in aggregate, and they are not used to build a picture of any individual reader.

Do you use cookies?

Yes, for analytics and nothing else. Google Analytics 4 measures which pages are read, how readers arrive and whether the state formation check is used, and it stores identifiers in your browser in order to do that.

No banner asks you first. If you would rather not be measured, the section on stopping it is below and nothing on this site changes when you do.

What is the measurement used for?

Knowing which pages are read, which state checks are opened and whether a reader continues to the full wizard. That informs what gets written next; it never changes what an individual reader is shown.

Nothing here is priced, and no content on this site varies by who is looking at it.

Who else sees this?

Two companies, both named above. Google operates the analytics service and receives the measurement described in this policy; Cloudflare hosts the site and holds the request logs.

Each processes that data under its own terms and retention schedule. Nothing is sold, and nothing is passed to anyone else.

What about links that leave this site?

They go to other people's sites, and this policy stops at the edge of ours. Every figure on this site links to the state agency page it was read from, and the data itself comes from one pinned dataset, us-llc-fees-dataset.

Following one of those links is an ordinary outbound link. It passes nothing about you beyond what your browser sends to any site it visits.

Is there a browser extension?

Yes, one: a free Chrome extension that looks up the fees and rules this site publishes. It collects no personal data, runs no analytics, and reads only this site's public API.

What it keeps stays in your browser: a local copy of the public dataset so the popup opens instantly, and the last state you selected. Nothing it stores ever leaves your machine.

How do I stop being measured?

Three ways, all of them yours rather than ours. Your browser can block cookies for this site, most browsers can block third-party scripts outright, and Google publishes an analytics opt-out add-on that works across every site using the service.

Any of them stops the measurement described here. None of them changes a single figure this site shows you.

What rights do I have over this data?

You can ask what is held about you and ask for it to be removed. Write to hey@llcstates.us and say which it is.

In practice there is little to find. This site keeps no database of readers; the request logs sit with Cloudflare and the analytics records with Google, each under its own retention schedule.

Does this page change?

It changes when the site does, and the date above is the day this text last changed. That date is checked by the build rather than kept by hand, so it cannot quietly fall behind the words under it.
